ASHEBORO N.C. (ACME NEWS) — On May 7th Officers with the Asheboro Police Department took on Teachers from Asheboro High School in a Kickball Showdown.
On Wednesday May 7th officers with the Asheboro Police Department and Teachers from Asheboro High School meet at the High School’s softball field for a friendly game of kickball. Superintendent of Asheboro City Schools, Dr. Aaron Woody served as the official for the game, and spectators were made up of a handful of fellow teachers, officers, staff, and family and friends. Both sides had their share of hilarious hijinks and in the end, the teachers won 7 to 4.
There was no shortage of dad jokes from Asheboro Police Department about the loss. “The teachers came away with the win this year, but we are determined to ‘take them to school’ and ‘teach’ them a lesson next year,” said Captain Byron Hill.
The event was scheduled this week as part of Teacher Appreciation Week, but APD and Asheboro City Schools both hope to hold similar events in the future.
