Open enrollment for 2026 health plans is underway, but many people who get insurance through the Affordable Care Act (ACA), often called “Obamacare,” are seeing higher prices after federal tax credits expired.

Because health insurance pricing and coverage rules vary widely by policy and individual circumstances, it can be difficult to determine where — and for whom — rates are rising, by how much, and what impact those increases are having on people across North Carolina.

Acme News is conducting a survey designed to help us better understand these changes and how ACA premium increases are affecting North Carolinians.

👤 Who can participate:

  • North Carolina residents who purchase their health insurance through the federal Marketplace.

Before you begin:

  • Please have your 2025 and 2026 Marketplace plan monthly premium details available.

No personally identifiable information is required to complete the survey. However, you may choose to provide your name and contact information at the end if you’re open to speaking with a reporter for follow-up questions.
