ASHEBORO, N.C. — The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office announced arrests in two separate child sexual exploitation cases early September.

Aaron Lee Barrett was arrested Sept. 2, 2021, after the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division Internet Crimes Against Children unit received information that he was possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material.
Detectives initiated an investigation and arrested Barrett on suspicion of possessing numerous files. He was charged with 10 counts of felony second-degree exploitation of a minor.
Barrett is being held on an $80,000 bond. If released before trial, he would be subject to electronic house arrest.

Jonathan Exiga Aguilar was arrested Sept. 3, 2021, after the Criminal Investigations Division received information that he had sexually assaulted a juvenile female.
Detectives investigated and arrested Aguilar, who was charged with two counts of felony statutory sex offense with a child 15 or younger, felony indecent liberties with a child and felony felonious restraint.
He is being held on a $250,000 bond.
