ASHEBORO, N.C. — A multi-agency task force closed 78 child sexual abuse material cases and made three arrests during a joint two-day operation in April, authorities said.
The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children team conducted Operation “I See You” on April 13-14, 2022, to investigate more than 100 pending cybertips traced to locations within Randolph County. The operation focused on validating child pornography reports through interviews, computer examinations, cell phone data extractions and evidence analysis.
The investigation involved agents and detectives from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations Winston-Salem and Charlotte, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office and police departments in Wadesboro, Liberty, Asheboro, Pinehurst and Alamance County.
The two-day operation resulted in three arrests, with charges pending against two additional individuals. Four juvenile victims were identified. The investigations are ongoing and additional charges may be filed.
Gerardo Jaimes Sandoval was charged with 10 counts of felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Bond was set at $120,000 secured.
Adam Albertson was charged with 10 counts of felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor for distributing material. Bond was set at $130,000 secured.
Jordan Ali Abukhalaf was charged with 10 counts of felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Bond was set at $25,000 secured.
