ASHEBORO, N.C. — An Asheboro man faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after authorities say he intentionally rammed his vehicle into his former partner’s car multiple times, causing a crash before fleeing the scene.
Deputies with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of Old Farmer Road and Oakgrove Road on July 11, 2021, to assist the North Carolina Highway Patrol with a reported hit-and-run.
According to investigators, the crash occurred during a domestic confrontation. Authorities determined that the suspect, identified as Tiron Dyson McDonald, intentionally struck the victim’s vehicle, which forced the vehicle to crash. McDonald then fled the area.
While deputies quickly located the vehicle McDonald used in the assault, he was not immediately found. Following an investigation, a magistrate issued warrants for his arrest.
McDonald was located and arrested the following day, July 12, 2021. He was charged with:
- Felony hit-and-run with injuries
- Four counts of misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon
- Operating a vehicle without a license
McDonald was ordered held without bond. His first court appearance took place on July 13, 2021, in Randolph County District Court.
