ASHEBORO, N.C. — A man was arrested on sex crime charges involving a child after investigations by both the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office and Asheboro Police Department.
Luis Enrique Torres was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Jail on March 18, 2022. He was served warrants from both agencies and held on a $250,000 secured bond.
On Dec. 22, 2021, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a sexual offense allegedly committed by Torres. Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division obtained warrants for two counts of felony indecent liberties with a child, felony statutory sex offense with a child and misdemeanor harassing phone calls.
The Asheboro Police Department independently obtained warrants for felony indecent liberties with a child and felony statutory sex offense with a child.
A first appearance was set for March 21, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
