ASHEBORO, N.C. — A teenager has been arrested in connection with the vandalism and burglary of a church and the burglary of a convenience store in Franklinville, authorities said.
KC Bryant Osborne, 18, was arrested April 12, 2022, and charged with multiple felonies related to the incidents.
On April 6, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to West Main Street in Franklinville after receiving a report of vandalism at a church. Two days later, deputies were called back to the same church for a burglary.
According to a 911 caller, an unknown subject forcibly broke into the church fellowship hall and searched the storage room and closets. The suspect damaged parts of the building during the break-in. Crime Scene Investigators responded and collected evidence.
On April 9, 2022, deputies responded to Quik Chek on West Main Street in Franklinville after the alarm was activated. They found a shattered glass door on the south side of the business. After reviewing surveillance footage, police requested a K9 unit, which located property from the theft. Police believe the suspect fled in a vehicle.
Following an investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, warrants were issued for Osborne in connection with all three incidents.
Osborne is being held on a $5,000 unsecured bond. A court date was set for May 9, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
He is charged with two counts of felony breaking and entering a place of worship, two counts of felony larceny after breaking and entering, felony breaking and entering, felony possession of stolen goods and three counts of misdemeanor injury to real property.
