ASHEBORO, N.C. — Two women were arrested in connection with a home invasion in Bennett in which a victim was assaulted and a dog was stolen, according to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.
On Nov. 29, 2021, deputies responded to Joe Branson Road after receiving a report of breaking and entering and assault. The victim told police they woke to find two subjects entering their bedroom. One of the suspects assaulted the victim before both suspects took a dog from the residence as they fled.
A magistrate found probable cause to issue arrest warrants for Sierra Denise Headen for felony breaking and entering, felony larceny of a dog and misdemeanor simple assault. Laurie Michelle Wilkie was charged with felony aid and abet.
Both Headen, 20, and Wilkie, 20, of Siler City were arrested separately on Dec. 7, 2021, by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office and transported to the Chatham County Jail. Both were issued written promises to appear in Randolph County District Court.
A first court date occurred on Dec. 13, 2021. Both are scheduled to appear again in February 2022.
