LIBERTY N.C. (ACME NEWS) – Blasting operations are set to begin soon at the Greensboro-Randolph Megasite as part of ongoing construction efforts.
According to a press release from the NC Department of Transportation (NCDOT), these operations will commence as early as this week and will continue for several months. The blasting is necessary for initial grading work to prepare the site for a manufacturing plant.
The operations will be conducted only during daytime hours and when weather conditions are suitable.
Ames Construction, a company based in Burnsville, Minnesota, received a $17.8 million contract in January to handle the initial site preparation.
The North Carolina General Assembly has allocated $135 million for NCDOT to work on site grading, road construction, highway interchanges, and other infrastructure improvements as part of the first phase of development at the megasite.
