ASHEBORO, N.C. — An Asheboro man faces a long list of felony and misdemeanor charges after a traffic stop for suspected driving under the influence led authorities to connect him to multiple vehicle break-ins and a stolen car.
Brandon Gregory Tyler Ore was arrested early Sunday following a series of incidents that spanned multiple towns in Randolph County, according to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation began shortly after midnight on May 23, 2021, when deputies responded to a reported breaking and entering on Oakland Avenue in Asheboro. The victim provided deputies with a list of stolen items, which included several bank cards.
At approximately 4 a.m. that morning, deputies assisted the North Carolina Highway Patrol with a traffic stop on Interstate 73/74, where troopers had pulled over a driver for a suspected DUI. During the stop, authorities discovered suspected illegal narcotics and multiple bank cards issued to other individuals.
Investigators soon determined the vehicle Ore was driving had been stolen at approximately 3:30 a.m. from a business on U.S. Highway 311 in Archdale, where several other vehicles had also been broken into.
Ore faces numerous charges, including:
- Driving while impaired
- Seven counts of felony breaking and entering a motor vehicle
- Felony larceny of a motor vehicle
- Felony larceny after breaking and entering
- Felony breaking and/or entering
- Felony possession of stolen goods
- Felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance
- Misdemeanor first-degree trespass
- Misdemeanor injury to personal property
- Misdemeanor simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance
- Misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia
Ore was placed in the Randolph County Jail under a $150,000 secured bond.
