
ASHEBORO N.C. (ACME NEWS) – Asheboro Police are investigating the death of a local man found in a wooded area near an apartment complex.
On March 9, 2022, around noon, officers responded to the 700 block of Breeze Hill Road after receiving a report about a missing person last seen in the area the previous day.
According to a press release from the Asheboro Police Department, initial information led to detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division being called in, along with additional personnel to aid in the search.
The department’s Emergency Response Team (SWAT) was also observed on scene, though specific details on their involvement remain unclear.
At approximately 3:00 p.m., police located the body of 40-year-old Robert Elridge Maddox in a wooded area near the apartments.
