ASHEBORO N.C. (ACME NEWS) – Asheboro Police are on the scene on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Asheboro investigating a shooting that occurred earlier today.
On Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at approximately 12:56 PM, a shooting was reported on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive near Harrison Street in Asheboro. According to the caller, a male victim was shot in the leg, and the suspect fled the scene.
The victim, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, was transported by EMS to a local medical facility, and his condition remains unknown according to a press release from the Asheboro Police Department.
Officers cleared the scene just before 3 p.m. No further details are available as the incident is still under investigation.
