ASHEBORO, N.C. — A man has been arrested and charged with felony second-degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting at a party in Randleman earlier this month.

Alexandre Osorio Carbajal, 19, who also goes by the alias Alexander Hernandez, was arrested by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Apprehension Team in Asheboro. He is accused in the Jan. 8, 2022, shooting that killed Daniel Lopez Vences, 20.

The shooting occurred during a party on Leonae when approximately 20 uninvited people showed up. A fight broke out in the front yard, and an unknown suspect fired multiple gunshots before fleeing the scene.

Investigators gathered evidence and presented it to a magistrate, who issued a warrant for Carbajal for felony second-degree murder. Carbajal was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Jail, where he was served the warrant.

He is being held on a $500,000 secured bond. Electronic house arrest is required if he is released.

A first appearance was set for Jan. 19, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
